Happy Gotcha Day and Shoes..

Today is my Gotcha Day! It has been four years today that my mommy chose me at the flea market (and no I did not come with any fleas) and took me home with her. I was in a playpen with my brother and sister and my mommy couldn't resist my sweet little face (haha..sucker!) and my spoiled rotten life with my mommy began. What a life it has been! Life definitely wouldn't be this good anywhere else. I love my mommy and I am grateful for the unconditional love that she has given to me and the care that she has been able to provide me with and not to mention the opportunity to meet my wonderful Mawmaw!!

I have always been a licker due to my OCD-ness of having clean feet. I can't stand to have my feet wet, dirty, touched, or anything. Well ever since my little escapade to the park this past weekend I have been constantly licking my feet even more so than normal. My mom called the V-E-T (shudder) while she was at work and the two of them cooked up a oddball idea. They wanted to put this cream stuff on my feet and then cover them with socks! Whatever made them think that I would even considering wearing socks is beyond me, but try telling that to my crazy mom.

My mom went on her lunch hour all over the place and found some baby socks that weren't cotton (I am allergic to cotton) and when she got home from work she tried to put them on my feet. I slipped right out of them. My feet were too small for even newborn size socks and so Mommy, Mawmaw and I loaded up in the car and went to Happy Dog and tried to see if they had shoes (oh my dogness!) Lucky for me they didn't have my size, but the owner told my mom to call back in the morning and she would order some for her. Just great! So needless to say after going all over America to find me some socks or shoes that plan backfired for at least a week until the shoes come in. I shall resume licking my feet until my little dog heart is content. My mom wants to hog my blog for a minute to say something about it being my Gotcha Day. I hope she doesn't say anything mushy as I have to maintain my tough dog image (cough cough!)

Note from Mom: I just wanted to say Happy Gotcha Day to my little baby boy. These past four years have flown by and I have truly enjoyed every second of every single day that I have had with you. You are a blessing even though sometimes you can be a royal pain in the you-know-what. I love everything about you and consider myself blessed to be your mommy!

  1. Oh Avery, please don't be distressed about the shoes. Your Mommy is only trying to do what's best for you. And just think, with the shoes on, no one can touch your feet! YAY!!!
